Chris Hanson was coached at an early age by Rodney Eyles, formerly ranked PSA World #2 and 1997 World Open Champion.  Rodney Martin, also formerly ranked PSA World #2 and 1991 World Open Champion, became Chris’ coach in 2006. Based in Greenwich, CT, Rodney is the founder of RMS, an advanced program for top squash players. Off the court, Chris was trained by Scott Schaeffer, D.C. C.S.C.S., who guided his physical development and helped him stay healthy during his junior and college career. While at Dartmouth, he was coached by Johann Wiens, former Germany champion and PSA World #8.

Chris graduated cum laude in 2013 from Dartmouth College with a B.A. in Psychology. During his senior year, he had the honor of being presented with the Kenneth Archibald Prize, which is awarded to “the member of the graduating class of Dartmouth College who has been four years in attendance, who has been the best all-around athlete, regard also being given to moral worth and high standing in scholarship.” He finished his athletic career at Dartmouth as a 3-time First Team All American, 4-time First Team All-Ivy, 2-time CSA Scholar Athlete, and co-winner of the Skillman Award for sportsmanship in college squash. He shared this award with long-time friend, former Princeton squash player, and current pro squash player Todd Harrity.

Now a full-time professional on the PSA World Tour, Chris is based in the Greenwich/Westchester area, where he is working with Rod Martin in Greenwich and Harrison, NY. Additionally, he trains at Equinox at their E 61st and Printing House locations in New York City, and works with Greenwich Sports Medicine in Glenville, CT for body maintenance and treatment.
