Marina Stefanoni in the Egyptian Open first round.

Team USA’s Marina Stefanoni reached a new career high-water mark, ascending two places up the world rankings to No. 24 Monday, September 22, following her second round Egyptian Open appearance.

Stefanoni entered her second season as a full-time professional poised to consistently compete in world’s biggest events against the world’s top players. Her season-opening appearance at the Egyptian Open gave her a positive foundation for the season when she recorded a first round win in the PSA Diamond event. Stefanoni then exited the tournament in a close match up against teammate and world No. 10 Amanda Sobhy in four games.

Stefanoni will take her new ranking into the PSA Gold Silicon Valley Open, October 11-15, in Redwood Shores, California, followed by the Comcast Business U.S. Open, October 19-25, in Philadelphia.
