Days after winning her fifth career WSA title in Paderborn, Germany, American world No. 37 Olivia Blatchford has continued her winning streak in the first round of the $15, 000 Gillenmarkets Irish Open.

In a repeat of Saturday’s Paderborn Open, the twenty-two-year old from Wilton, Connecticut, defeated France’s Cyrielle Peltier in four games to advance to Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Blatchford now faces thirty-eight-year old Madeline Perry for the second Irish Open in a row. Top-seeded Perry, world No. 18, announced that she will retire from the WSA tour following the 2015 Irish Open, ending a career that began in 1999.

In the 2014 Irish Open, Blatchford upset Perry in a five-game quarterfinal.
