The 2016 U.S. Women’s Championship semifinals will be contested by the top four seeds who progressed through the quarterfinals Friday at Harvard University’s Murr Center in Boston.

The opening match represented Harvard’s past and present in the form of current Harvard No. 1 Sabrina Sobhy and Crimson alum Haley Mendez. Mendez caught the three seed and 2014 national champion off guard winning the first game 11-8, but the younger Sobhy sister responded by winning the match in four 11-5, 11-5, 11-5.
