Olivia Fiechter (r) against Georgia Adderly.

Team USA’s Olivia Blatchford Clyne and Olivia Fiechter are set to face off in the quarterfinals of the $18,000 Edinburgh SC Open Friday, February 1, after second rounds wins in Scotland on Thursday.

Blatchford Clyne, world No. 19, leads the draw as the top seed in her adopted home city and opened her campaign with a four-game victory over England’s Kace Bartley 11-4, 11-3, 8-11, 11-7 in twenty-eight minutes.

Fiechter, the tournament’s eight seed, held off local wild card Georgia Adderly in three games 11-8, 11-2, 12-10.

The draw sets up the first PSA World Tour encounter between the two Americans. Fiechter, a recent Princeton graduate, has risen to a career high world ranking of world No. 57 this month. As the top seed, Blatchford Clyne is seeded to meet Egypt’s world No. 17 and two seed Hania El Hammamy in the finals.
