Both Americans enter the tournament with first-round matches on Wednesday, January 26. Harrity, world No. 35, will be aiming for his second Motor City Open first round victory in his fifth tournament appearance against Spanish veteran Borja Golan.

Harrity has only face the thirty-nine-year-old Spaniard once on the PSA tour, falling short in four games at the 2021 Qatar Classic. Harrity and Golan will face off in one of the first matches of the tournament at 4pm ET.

Khan, world No. 34, is in search of his first career win in Detroit in his third tournament appearance. The twenty-six-year-old will renew his recent rivalry with England’s Nathan Lake in their third match up since December. The English world No. 38 won both encounters and will try for a third at 5pm.

The twenty-first staging of the Motor City Open–a PSA Silver event–will offer $80,000 in prize money and has attracted some of the world’s top players including New Zealand’s top seed Paul Coll–who will become world No. 1 in March, Egypt’s world No. 3 Tarek Momen, Peru’s world No. 6 Diego Elias and Egypt’s world No. 7 Marwan ElShorbagy.
