World No. 31 Shajahan Khan made a strong start to the season by making this third career appearance in a PSA Platinum third round and recording two wins at the season-opening Qatar Classic.
Khan made a confident start with a quick 3-0 win over Qatar’s local wild card before a second round win against Spain’s former world No. 5 Borja Golan in four games.
The two wins sent Khan to the all glass showcourt where he put on a show against Egypt’s world No. 9 Marwan ElShorbagy. The American forced a fifth game with a dramatic 14-12 win in the fourth, but fell short 11-8 in the fifth after eighty minutes.
What a way to save match ball from @Shahjkhan200! 🤯
