Team USA’s Amanda Sobhy, Sabrina Sobhy and Shahjahan Khan will contest the Oracle NetSuite Open quarterfinals on the glass court at San Francisco’s Pier 70 after second round wins Friday, October 1.

The Sobhy sisters were on the glass court staged in the tournament debut of Pier 70’s Building 12 and both progressed without dropping a game.
Sabrina Sobhy came back from 2-6 down in the first against Egypt’s Zeina Mickawy, before pulling away to win 12-10, 11-4. Sabrina will now face New Zealand’s two seed Joelle King in the opening quarterfinal match Sunday at 12pm noon local time.

Meanwhile at the Olympic Club, Khan dug in to pull off a comeback against France’s Lucas Serme, recovering from dropping the first game 9-11 to win 11-7, 11-7. Khan will follow on after Sabrina’s match against Egypt’s three seed Mazen Hesham.
Amanda Sobhy completed the women’s quarterfinals lineup Saturday night with a decisive 11-8, 11-1 over Egypt’s Sana Ibrahim. Amanda continues her title defense against twenty-year-old Columbia Sophomore Chan Sin Yuk, who upset U.S. teammate Olivia Blatchford Clyne in two games. Faraz Khan also exited in the round of sixteen against Peru’s top seed Diego Elias.
