Fiechter and Blatchford Clyne Headline Inaugural Chestnut Hill Classic

Team USA’s world No. 10 and world No. 15 Olivia Fiechter and Olivia Blatchford Clyne will headline the inaugural Chestnut Hill Classic as the two and three seeds, respectively, March 2-6, at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.

Fiechter returns to her childhood club where she first learned the sport on the back of the biggest professional title of her career–the $70,000 DAC Pro Classic–which she captured last month. Fiechter enters the bottom half of the draw with a potential quarterfinal against Harvard graduate and eight seed Hana Moataz, and potential semifinal against four seed Melissa Alves.

Blatchford Clyne also enters the tournament in some of the best form of her career, which included final runs at the Cleveland Classic and Cincinatti Gaynor Cup last month. The results sent the thirty-year-old up to No. 15 in the world rankings and earned her the PSA women’s Player of the Month accolade for February.

Blatchford Clyne enters the top half of the draw and is seeded to meet five seed Rachel Arnold in the quarterfinals and Belgium’s top seed Nele Gilis in the semifinals.
