U.S. Junior Women Reach First World Juniors Team Semifinal Since 2015

The U.S. Junior Women’s Team will compete in its first World Junior Women’s Team Championship semifinal since 2015 following a quarterfinal win over India Thursday, July 27, in Melbourne, Australia.

The U.S. had to come back from one match down against the tournament’s six seeds after India No. 1 Anahat Singh defeated Caroline Fouts 3-1 in the opening match.

Riya Navani maintained her perfect record in the Team competition to keep U.S. semifinals hopes alive with a 3-0 win over Yuvna Gupta in the No. 3 position.

Replicating her performance against England in the Pool stages, No. 2 Madison Ho provided the decisive win for the U.S. with a 3-0 win against Tiana Parasrampuria.

The U.S. will now face the tournament’s two seeds Malaysia in the quarterfinals on the glass court Friday, July 28, at 2pm local time, midnight ET.
