
Team USA has arrived in Egypt for the 2025 WSF World Junior Championships, featuring the World Junior Individual Championships and World Junior Team Championships, at Black Ball Sporting Club in Cairo.
The tournament opens with six days of individual play, July 21-26, which will be followed by the team competition, July 27-August 1. Watch select live streaming on worldsquash.tv. The U.S. enters the individual competition with six players seeded in the top sixteen.
Alexander Dartnell and Christian Capella, the top two ranked BU19 players in the U.S., both enter the 128-player Junior Men’s draw seeded to reach the quarterfinals as 5/8 seeds. Sixteen-year-old Jack Elriani will make his World Juniors debut as a 9/16 seed, while Hart Robertson and Oscar Okonkwo enter as 17/32 seeds. Ahmed Haq will make his World Juniors debut unseeded.
Alexandra Jaffe, Samantha Jaffe and Charlotte Pastel–the three returning members of the 2024 U.S. Women’s Team–all enter the junior women’s draw as 9/16 seeds. Fifteen-year-old Charlotte Sze will make her World Juniors debut as a 17/32 seed, and Diya Yadav enters her first World Juniors unseeded.
Before the competition began, the U.S. delegation explored Egypt’s history and scenery, visiting the Great Pyramids of Giza and Sphinx. The U.S. team was honored with a visit to the U.S. Embassy in Cairo alongside the Egyptian Junior National Team, were they were special guests of the U.S. Ambassador.
“It has already been a memorable trip for the team seeing wonders of the ancient world and now we’re ready to make more memories on court,” said Karim Ibrahim, US Squash Director of Junior National Teams. “We’re grateful to the U.S. Embassy in Cairo for their hospitality and support throughout our stay in Egypt. The focus now is supporting the team as they go up against the best players in the world and representing Team USA with integrity.”
The U.S. is aiming to build on its historic performance at the 2024 World Juniors where the Junior Men and Women both medaled in the same year for the first time.
