Team USA Claim Twenty-First Battle of the Border on Home Soil

Team USA took home the twenty-first edition of the Battle of the Border, an annual weekend of training and competition between the U.S. and Canadian Junior National Teams, August 8-10, at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center.

The Battle of the Border has served as an integral part of US Squash National Team programming since its inception, providing players from the U13, U15 and U17 age categories the opportunity to represent Team USA in a team format–often for the first time. This experience helps prepare the players for potentially representing Team USA in the British Junior Open or World Junior Championships later in their junior careers.

The two teams spent Friday training before reverse battles on Saturday. Sunday featured the battle of the border match, which the U.S. won 15-9.

“What a weekend at the 2025 Battle of the Border! It was incredible to see our junior step up, play with passion and represent team USA with pride,” said Olivia Taylor, Tournament Director and Specter Center Head Coach. “The energy, sportsmanship and camaraderie on display—both on and off court—made it a fun and enjoyable event. Proud to say the U.S. brought the title home again, but even prouder of the team spirit we showed all weekend.”
