What tournaments are you looking forward to most?
I am looking forward to all of the Platinum events I can play this season, as this is the first time in my career where I am able to enter and get into these events based on my ranking. I will be able to travel to a few new places because of this which I am very excited about.
Is there anything you are changing or approaching differently this season?
This season I am focusing on building my brand of squash that can compete with the top players in the world. To do this, I will focus on being physically resilient and playing intelligent squash. This will come through a combination of even more time on court and in the gym, and gaining some different coaching perspectives.
What did you learn from your first season as a full-time professional that will help you this year?
I learned more about how to prepare for tournaments in terms of travel habits and pre-match rituals. Having a system or a routine in place when there are exogenous variables affecting us around competition (time changes, varying court conditions, etc.) helps us compete at our highest level.
Anything else you would like to add about this upcoming season?
I made a big jump in the rankings (about 32 places) last season and I am not looking to be complacent. This season I am aiming to improve my squash in all aspects, enjoy the process and hopefully see a further rise in my ranking.
