Team USA’s Nick Spizzirri earned his first PSA title in his debut season as a full-time professional at the $6,000 SPAC Open, September 27, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Spizzirri returned to Brazil where he earned a team gold medal earlier this summer and entered the draw as the tournament’s three seed.
The twenty-three-year-old American reached the final without dropping a game where he met Colombia’s top seed Andres Herrera. In the final, Spizzirri came back from a game down to capture the title 7-11, 11-4, 11-7, 11-4 in sixty-four minutes.
The title marks the second and largest PSA title of Spizzirri’s career.
