Team USA’s Olivia Weaver successfully defended her Silicon Valley Open presented by Oracle NetSuite, marking her third career PSA Gold title Wednesday, October 15, at Squash Zone in Redwood Shores, California.
After enduring an injury-hampered period that forced the American to withdraw from the Qatar Classic last month, Weaver made an encouraging return to competition last week.
The World No. 5 stormed to the final without dropping a game where she met three seed and world No. 8 Sivasangari Subramaniam Wednesday night. The Malaysian and Cornell graduate presented the toughest challenge of the tournament for Weaver, as she pushed the American took the first game off the American all tournament in the second game 12-10, 4-11. Weaver bounced back to claim the next two games and clinch the title 11-4, 11-4.

“I’m over the moon for sure,” Weaver said after securing an 11th PSA Tour title. “I just didn’t really know what to expect coming out here. I knew I had been feeling good all week coming in, but it’s been a while since I’ve competed after the recent injury.
“It was really tough today. After that second game, the momentum was totally in her hands, and I had to dig deep to crawl my way out of that hole. I’m just really proud of myself for digging deep there. To battle through a match like that today just gives me that extra bit of confidence, just in my competitive edge and that competitive fighting spirit that I had to tap into today.”
The 2025 Silicon Valley Open title marks Weavers third PSA Gold title since winning her first at the 2024 SVO, and adds to the 2025 Australian Open.
Weaver will take that confidence into the Comcast Business U.S. Open this week, October 19-25, where she enters the Platinum draw as the three seed.
