US Squash has announced the fifty-five juniors set to represent Team USA at the 100th edition of the British Junior Open, January 2-6, in Birmingham.
The 2026 BJO marks Team USA’s thirteenth annual trip to England as a team. The BJO is considered to be akin to the World Junior Championships with the world’s top players competing in all age divisions from U11 to U19, while the World Juniors fields just the U19 division.
Last year, Team USA produced a record eighteen quarterfinalists in addition to four medalists and the second boys champion in program history–Vivaan Mehta in the BU15 divison.
“Team USA is excited to be participating at the 100th year anniversary of British junior open, the world’s most prestigious junior tournament,” said Karim Ibrahim, US Squash Assistant National Coach and Director of Junior National Teams.”This year, we are excited to be participating with a group of highly skilled and motivated players, 55 in total and 11 experienced coaches who have been selected by the national selection committee following our national coaches’ criteria. We have returning players such as Christian Capella, Jack Elriani, and Yaseen Shalaby in BU19 division, while Charlotte Sze, Isabella Tang, and Reghan McLaughlin return for a strong GU17. In the Younger age groups, we have Azlan Khan & Lukas Daly in BU11 returning with strong aspirations while Vivienne Sze lead an exciting GU15 group. Brendan Tagliarini leads a star studded BU17 group with hopes of pushing towards podium positions.”
