Spizzirri Sets New Career High Ranking After Stellar April

Team USA’s Nick Spizzirri has continued his ascent up the world rankings this month thanks to a stellar run of results that has sent the rookie up to world No. 82 this week.

Spizzirri started April at the Pan American PSA World Championships Qualifiers in St. Louis, where he entered the draw as the five seed. The Penn graduate knocked out U.S. teammate and top seed Shahjahan Khan in the quarterfinals, and reached the final with a 3-0 semifinal win against Guatemala’s seven seed Alejandro Enriquez. Spizzirri narrowly missed out on qualifying for the world championships, losing a seventy-five-minute final against four seed Jeremy Azana.

The twenty-four-year-old followed up his performance in St. Louis by reaching the largest semifinal of his career at the PSA Copper Bermuda Open. In Bermuda, Spizzirri beat both of his higher-ranked U.S. teammates, first defeating Khan again in the first round. In round of sixteen, Spizzirri upset England’s world No. 49 Nathan Lake to reach the largest semifinal of his career against world No. 29 Timmy Brownell. A rematch of the 2025 U.S. Championships final, Spizzirri notched his first career victory over the top-ranked American 7-11, 8-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-8 in fifty-five minutes.

Spizzirri fell short in the Bermuda semifinals against the formidable world No. 22 Karim El Torky.

This week, Spizzirri continued his strong form by reaching the $15,000 RC Pro Series quarterfinals in St. Louis, which will continue to bolster his ranking next week.
