The U.S. Junior Men’s and Women’s Teams are through to the quarterfinal stages of the WSF World Junior Squash Championships after three days of team play, July 26-28, at White Oaks Resort in Niagara-on-the-lake, Canada.
The U.S. Junior Men, the two seeds, will take on Japan Wednesday at 1:30pm ET for a chance to reach a third straight Men’s Semifinal. The U.S. Junior Women, the three seeds, will face World Junior Individual Champion Anahat Singh and India in the semifinals at 4:00pm ET.

Both U.S. squads won their respective groups in dominant fashion to move on to the men’s round of sixteen and women’s quarterfinals with all eight players contributing wins. The U.S. Junior Men opened up their team campaign with a perfect slate of 3-0 results in the group stages against Ireland and Scotland. The two seeds then opened up the knockout stages with another 3-0 win against Germany to set up a quarterfinal against Japan.
The U.S. Junior Women won a crucial group stage match against England 2-1 courtesy of wins from Charlotte Sze and Lily Bourell. The England laid the foundation for the group win along with victories ove Macau and Japan. The three seeds now progress to the quarterfinals where they will meet an Indian team led by newly-crowned World Junior Champion Anahat Singh.
The U.S. Junior Women’s Team includes Lily Bourell (Westwood, MA), Ava Lin (Chicago, IL), Charlotte Sze (Wellesley, MA) and Diya Yadav (Delray Beach, FL). The U.S. Junior Men’s Team includes Aiden Chiang (Princeton, NJ), Lars Gertsen (Boca Raton, FL), Yaseen Shalaby (New York, NY) and Brendan Tagliarini (New Haven, CT).
