American Trio to Contest $110k Houston Open

Team USA’s Todd Harrity, Shahjahan Khan and Faraz Khan are all set to compete in the first major U.S. PSA tournament of the year–the $110k Houston Open–at the newly-opened Houston Squash Club, January 4-9, in Texas.

The PSA Gold draw, the Houston Open’s largest prize money in its twelfth edition, has attracted some of the world’s top players including world No. 1 Ali Farag, world No. 3 Mohamed ElShorbagy, world No. 5 Mostafa Asal and world No. 7 Marwan ElShorbagy.

The three U.S. players all enter first-round action on Tuesday, January 4. Todd Harrity, who enters the tournament with a career high ranking of world No. 35 this month, will face Egypt’s world No. 29 Mohamed ElSherbini at 2pm local time, 3pm ET.

Faraz Khan, who also boasts a career-high ranking of world No. 53 this month, will face Switzerland’s Nicolas world No. 25 in a rematch of their U.S. Open match in October at 5pm local time.

Shahjahan Khan, who is now the highest ranked U.S. player on the men’s tour at world No. 34 this month, will face France’s world No. 33 Lucas Serme in the final match of the first round at 8pm local time.
