Douglas Wins Second and Largest PSA Title in Dallas

Team USA’s Andrew Douglas made a title run as an unseeded player to win his second and largest career PSA event at the $12,000 Life Time Dallas Open Sunday, May 15, in Texas.

Days before his graduation from Penn, Douglas stormed through the draw starting with a first-round upset over U.S. teammate world No. 72 Spencer Lovejoy in five games and seventy minutes.

Douglas then defeated seeded Canadians Mike McCue in three and Nick Sachvie in four to set up a final against top seeded Englishman Nick Wall.

Douglas prevailed in a marathon five-game final, edging wall 16-14 in the fifth game after eighty minutes to clinch the title.

The Dallas Open is the twenty-three-year-old’s second PSA title of the season, adding to his $6,000 Cricket Club Open in December.

The title will bolster Douglas’ ranking as he joins the US Squash High Performance Program following his graduation ahead of his first full-time season on the PSA tour next year.
