Team USA Unbeaten in First Round of Pan Am Individuals

The 2014 Pan American Olympic Festival Squash Individual competitions began today in Toluca, Mexico, with all five Americans victorious in the first round before Sunday evening’s second round.

The Pan American Olympic Festival involves twenty-three sports that are contested from July 11-September 30. The squash competition takes place September 7-13 with the Individuals contested September 7-10, Doubles September 9-10, and Teams September 11-13. Six of the eight Americans enter the Individual competitions seeded. The Men’s draw of sixty-six players includes American Player/Coach and [5/8] seed Gilly Lane, [5/8] seed Chris Gordon, [9/16] seed Todd Harrity, and unseeded Chris Hanson. The Women’s draw of forty-three players includes American [3/4] seed Olivia Blatchford, [5/8] seed Sabrina Sobhy, [5/8] seed Cece Cortes, and unseeded Maria Elena Ubina.
