U.S. champion Chris Hanson earned his third career PSA Tour title this weekend, pulling off a perfect tournament to claim the Vogue Optical Atlantic Squash Championship title on Prince Edward Island in Canada.

Hanson progressed to the final courtesy of three, 3-0 victories to set up a final against Rochester graduate Mario Yanez. Yanez, who entered the draw unseeded, made a surprise run to the final including a semifinal upset over two seed Nick Sachvie.

In the final, it was the Dartmouth graduate who completed the tournament without dropping a game, defeating Yanez 11-6, 11-3, 11-5 in thirty-four minutes.

The victory marks Hanson’s third career $5,000 title, and second this season following up the Boston Open title in December.

The two-time S.L. Green U.S. men’s champion continues his season next month at the CAC Squash Open in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
