The 2019 event marks the fifth year since Team USA revived the Pan American Juniors national team delegation, which is comprised of top-ranked U19 and U17 players.
The group of U.S. players features an entire squad of Pan Ams debutantes and will be led by junior national coaches Madeline Perry and Fabio Cechin.

Girls’ Pan Am Juniors Squad: Binney Huffman, Renee Chan, Molly Stoltz, Nina Mital
“I am really excited to travel with Team USA and have high hopes for the event,” Perry said. “We had a training squad a couple of weekends ago and I was so impressed by the attitudes of our players and enthusiasm for the event. It it a wonderful opportunity for all of the players to experience a large international team event and I look forward to helping all of the players get the most out of themselves as well as having fun.”
The Pan American Junior Championships have seven gold medals on offer: boys’ and girls’ team, boys’, girls’ and mixed doubles, and boys’ and girls’ individuals. Team USA will aim to build on five bronze medals at the 2018 Pan Ams in Brazil.
“This is a great group of players and this was the first time in a couple years that we had a training squad leading into the event to build momentum,” Cechin said. “We have high expectations for our team, but we know that there will be lots of difficult competition in this event. We would like to improve our results in all events and hope the tournament will give these players international exposure that will help their junior careers down the line.”
