For the second year in a row Team Pennsylvania are the overall champions at the third annual Regional Team Championships, the season-culminating event of the US Squash Regional Squad program at Yale University.

The elite selection of more than one hundred juniors in the U13, U15, and U17 age divisions comprised the seven regional teams: Connecticut, Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic, New England, New York, Pennsylvania and West Coast.

Team Pennsylvania topped the overall scoreboard, edging Team New York in second place and an all-time best third place finish for Team West Coast. Team Pennsylvania also collected their fist U17 title. Team West Coast won its first Regional Team Championships title in the U15 division, and Team New York captured its fourth Regional Team Championships title in the U13 division.

The Regional Squads training program serves as an element of US Squash’s increased support for National Team player development and is the beginning of the player pathway to junior and senior Team USA. The weekend took on a ‘camp style’ feel, with players staying with their teammates, eating together at the dining hall and being supervised by US Squash’s Regional Squad coaching team.

For the second year, the Regional Team Championships coincided with a junior national team training session. The men’s and women’s junior national team completed their second of three national team training sessions before traveling to Poland for the 2016 World Junior Championships in August.
