Blatchford (l) celebrates a first-round upset in the Windy City Open.

Team USA’s Amanda Sobhy and Olivia Blatchford are set to contest the largest women’s PSA event ever held in South America, the $70,000 Ciudad de Floridablanca, on International Women’s Day, Wednesday March 8, at the Parque el Santisimo in Colombia.

Sobhy, world No. 6, headlines the draw as the tournament’s top seed, and is predicted to face world No. 7 and two seed Nicol David in the final. Should Sobhy fulfill her seeding, it would be the largest title in the twenty-three-year-old’s career.

The Harvard graduate will face a familiar opponent in her first round match in the form of former Yale rival Millie Tomlinson Wednesday night at 8pm ET. The evening glass court matches are streaming live on SquashTV.

Blatchford, world No. 27, is slated for the afternoon matches on local courts against Hong Kong’s world No. 12 Annie Au at 2:15pm ET. Two weeks after a first-round upset in the Windy City Open, Blatchford will aim for another first-round upset against the tournament’s four seed in just their second career match up on the PSA Tour.

The afternoon matches are scoring live on www.psaworldtour.com.
