Olivia Fiecther celebrates her first-round win

Team USA’s Amanda Sobhy, Olivia Blatchford Clyne and Olivia Fiechter are bidding to reach the Oracle NetSuite Open quarterfinals Thursday, September 26, in San Francisco.

Fiechter and Blatchford Clyne progressed to the second round after two straight game victories in the first round on the opening day of match play Tuesday, September 24.

Fiechter, world No. 39, pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the first round, defeating Belgium’s world No. 27 Tinne Gilis 11-6, 11-8. Blatchford Clyne, world No. 19, put in a decisive first-round performance against Scotland’s The twenty-six-year-old from Connecticut will face the toughest test of all against Egypt’s world No. 1 Raneem El Welily at 1:30pm local time, 4:30pm ET. The 2019 Oracle NetSuite Open is celebrating its tenth year in San Francisco and eighth year of staging an all-glass court in Embarcadero Plaza. The tournament is offering equal prize money across two PSA Gold draws.
