Spencer Lovejoy was a constant fixture on the U.S. junior circuit, reaching the finals of the U13, U15 and U19 divisions. Spencer represented Team USA at two World Juniors in 2015 and 2016. Spencer played No. 2 on the U.S. team that achieved a record third place finish in 2016. Spencer was honored with the DeRoy Sportsmanship Award his senior year before attending Yale University.

At Yale, Spencer was the captain his senior year, played No. 1 all four years and made CSA All-American for three years of his collegiate career. In 2020, Spencer was presented with the Skillman Sportsmanship Award.

Spencer started playing PSA events during college, capturing the first title of his career in 2019 at the Mississauga Open in Canada. Spencer held a ranking of 114 upon turning professional full time in 2020, and broke into the world’s top 100 rankings in his first season, reaching world No. 99 in March 2021 and a career high of world No. 92 in May 2021.
