Stefanoni Becomes Fifth U.S. Born Player to Reach World’s Top Twenty

Team USA’s Marina Stefanoni became the fifth U.S.-born player to reach the world’s top twenty rankings this week, November 17, as she continues her rise up the rankings.

Stefanoni has been on the ascent in recent weeks and months, establishing new career high world rankings of world No. 22 and world No. 21.

The twenty-three-year-old’s latest milestone marks just the fifth time in history that a U.S.-born player has reached the world’s top twenty rankings. Stefanoni follows the likes of Amanda Sobhy, Olivia Blatchford Clyne, Olivia Weaver and Sabrina Sobhy.

Stefanoni has recently competed in the St. James Open and Chestnut Hill Classic, and will now travel to Hong Kong to compete in the Platinum Milwaukee Hong Kong Squash Open, December 1-7.
