Team USA’s Amanda Sobhy has risen to her highest-career world ranking of eight in January’s PSA Tour rankings, topping her previous career high of ten.

In September 2014, the twenty-two-year-old from Sea Cliff, New York, became the first U.S.-born male or female to crack the world’s top ten when she reached world No. 10.

The Harvard graduate now augments her record as the highest-ranked U.S.-born squash professional of the international softball era.

Sobhy has been training her Boston home base ahead of her first tournament of the year, the 2016 Tournament of Champions in New York City.

The American is seeded tenth and scheduled to play her first round match against a qualifier on January 9 in Grand Central Terminal’s Vanderbilt Hall.
