Argentinian Robertino Pezotta ended the first of two tournaments in South America for American Todd Harrity Thursday night, upsetting third-seeded Harrity in a four-game Resistencia Open quarterfinal in Argentina.

Pezotta, world No. 86, had lost his only previous encounter against the twenty-four-year-old from Wayne, Pennsylvania, last fall during the 2014 Pan American Olympic Festival, which Harrity won in three games.

The thirty-two-year old from Rosario avenged his loss 12-10, 4-11, 11-4, 11-4 in fifty-five minutes to reach Friday’s semifinals against second-seeded Canadian Shawn Delierre.

Harrity’s focus now shifts to Paraguay, where he is seeded fourth in the $10, 000 Paraguay Open. Harrity’s first round match against a qualifier will take place on Wednesday, May 20.
