Americans Amanda Sobhy and Chris Hanson improved their world rankings this month as both players prepare to represent Team USA at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto July 11-17.

Sobhy, who became the first U.S.-born player to reach the world’s top 10 last fall, returns to her highest career world ranking of ten after dropping to eleven in June.

The recent Harvard Graduate reached the second round of the $100, 000 Alexandria International Open in early June, which provided enough rankings points to send her back to the world’s top 10.

After cracking the world’s top 100 for the first time last month at world No. 98, Hanson has now reached another career high this month, world No. 90.

Hanson appeared in the first round of the $15, 000 Costa Rica Open last month, earning the twenty-four-year-old enough rankings points to reach his highest career world ranking for a second consecutive month.

Sobhy and Hanson’s Pan American teammates—Olivia Blatchford, Chris Gordon and Todd Harrity—all dropped slightly in the world rankings. Gordon fell three places from world No. 57 to world No. 60, Harrity moved to world No. 72 from world No. 70, while Blatchford moved down one place to world No. 37.

The five Team USA players reignite their PSA schedules in August following the Pan American Games.
