Fourteen-year-old Marina Stefanoni claimed her second Canadian Junior Open title, and first in the U19 division, last weekend at White Oaks resort in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
After winning the U15 title as a twelve year old in 2014, Stefanoni moved up to the U19’s in 2015, when she reached the semifinal. The 2016 U.S. junior champion entered the 2016 U19 draw as the top seed, and dropped only one game on her way to a second Canadian Junior Open title, including a three-game final win over New Zealand’s Ellie Epke.
Marina’s younger sister, Lucie, took third place in the GU15 division and fellow American Elizabeth Ross took second place in the GU17 division.
