Team USA’s Amanda Sobhy recorded her second three-game victory in the 2016 Windy City Open presented by Guggenheim Partners & Equitrust Sunday afternoon to reach the quarterfinals at the University Club of Chicago.

After a nineteen-minute three-game victory Friday night, Sobhy defeated former world No. 4 and ten seed Joelle King 11-6, 11-4, 11-5 in twenty-five minutes on the glass court in Cathedral Hall.

The twenty-two-year-old American will face France’s world No. 5 and four seed Camille Serme in Monday’s quarterfinals at 5pm local time, 6pm ET.

Serme holds a 3-2 career advantage over Sobhy, and won the most recent match in five games during the 2015 Qatar Classic.

The 2016 Windy City Open is the first Sobhy’s first appearance in the tournament, having missed previous iterations because of the CSA Team Championships. Sobhy’s victory in Chicago Sunday came just minutes after Sobhy’s younger sister, Sabrina, clinched a second-consecutive national title for Harvard.

All Windy City Open matches are streaming live on SquashTV. Tickets for the Windy City Open can be purchased at www.windycityopen.com.
